Kaitoa the Kiwi – Learning to Love What makes Us Unique

Kaitoa the Kiwi's Journey tells the story of a flightless Kiwi who feels inferior compared to other birds that can soar through the skies, sing beautiful songs, or swim with grace. Feeling inadequate, Kaitoa sets out on a journey across Aotearoa New Zealand, meeting birds of all kinds.

Kaitoa the Kiwi is a charming children's book written by musician and author Jayson Norris, with vibrant illustrations by artist Mandii Pope.

Along the way, they offer him words of encouragement, assuring him that everyone has unique gifts and that being flightless doesn’t diminish his worth. From Kororā the Little Blue Penguin, the tuneful Tūī to the majestic Owl - Ruru, his new friends help him embrace who he is.
